A Simple Life

Lake

Compassion creates opportunities for success for all. Respect creates opportunities to learn from each other.

A quiet little New England life of knitting and nature.

Come with me as I explore the area around me. From the endlessly quiet walks through some of my favorite trails, to the bustling metropolises of the region. Celebrating the people and cultures found in each place. With breaks for flowers, bugs, and knitting. I'm prone to a good side quest full of adventure and usually laughter and music.

I've found that the best way to explore is by jumping in and chatting with whoever crosses my path. I've gotten to meet some really neat people over the years, and I'd love to share them with you!

My mission is to show you the beautiful communities of New England!

I think that thriving communities are the basis of a thriving country.

New England is rich in history, not just that of the people who landed on the shores a couple of hundred years ago, but of the first humans who walked through these lands alongside our animal residents.

From our beautiful old growth forests singing with the calls of birds to our concrete jungles ringing with the cacophony of a city waking up. Rivers coursing through the landscape, starting in the mountains and ending at the Atlantic Ocean. It's easy to see why our predecessors wanted to stay and why it's still such a densely populated part of the United States.

There is beauty all around us, sometimes we just have to look a little harder for it.

The human perspective on life

  • The smaller New Britain Museum of American Art, to the extensive collection at the Harvard Art Museum you can find a wide range of artistic expression.

  • From the Peabody Museum in New Haven to the Boston Aquarium, you can find the remains of those that roamed and swam here and living ones that still do. Don't forget to check out the beautiful sea turtle that usually hangs out at the top of the central tank at the aquarium, she's delightful!

Known for our schools that help our kids grow into their world.

  • The people of New England are known for being cautious when new people come along, but once they trust you, they are warm and friendly.

  • Building strong communities that are tightly knit, and make life fun and exciting.

  • They take their civic pride seriously, after all, they still have statues from the last time a country tried to invade.

  • Our graveyards hold the remains of those that fought against the rule of kings, and those that worked tirelessly to ensure the rights of everyone.

Natural landscapes that beg you go just a little further.

  • Environmentalism is a choice.

  • Having a place to take a meandering walk is part of the New England lifestyle.

  • Daily movement is expected here, whether in the form of hiking the trails or rowing the local waters in a natural environment that is protected.

  • Accompanied by the sound of birds, inturupted by a passing black bear, your walk becomes an adventure.
